Degree Options

Residential M.S.

Deadline has passed. Please check back during the Fall 2017 semester for more information.

For those who have recently graduated or want to experience a program in-person, the residential M.S. will allow you to work with your peers and instructors closely while taking advantage of our facilities. The GRE is required for all applicants, in addition to the TOEFL if you are an international student.

Online M.S.

Deadline has passed. Please check back during the Fall 2017 semester for more information.

If you are a working professional looking to advance your career from anywhere in the world, the online master’s program is perfect for you. At a fraction of the cost of a residential program, this affordable option can get you the degree you want. The GRE is required, unless you have over five years of experience or currently hold a degree in an applicable science field. Waivers can be requested by contacting dsadvise@indiana.edu with your most recent résumé and scanned copies of your transcripts.

Hybrid M.S.

Deadline has passed. Please check back during the Fall 2017 semester for more information.

The hybrid M.S. allows you to take 12 credits online and 18 credits on-campus, enabling you to extend your internship for an additional semester or work from home for some classes. Like the residential program, the GRE is required for all applicants, in addition to the TOEFL if you are an international student.

Online Certificate

Deadline has passed. Please check back during the Fall 2017 semester for more information.

If a Master’s isn’t the right fit for you, we also offer an accredited and affordable online certificate for technology-oriented working professionals or recent graduates. With a broad range of courses available on topics such as cloud computing, health and medicine, high-performance computing and data analysis, you can tailor your curriculum to your interests. Students must complete 12 credit hours of courses selected from the approved course offerings list.

For international students: All residential parts require valid Visa. Residential M.S. can apply CPT and OPT. Hybrid M.S. can apply OPT. If you have any questions, please check the FAQ page.
