For the capstone, you’ll team up with classmates on a project that
- represents everything you’ve learned in your informatics degree,
- shows prospective employers what you can do, and
- ideally, comes up with a solution no one has ever thought of before.
Most capstones involve solving a problem for a local individual or organization. Others may focus on interesting topics that you want to explore under the guidance of a faculty advisor. Still other capstones are their own businesses: a few years ago, some students started a statewide consulting business. All of them went on to consulting careers.
