Student Recognition Celebration

The School of Informatics and Computing will be hosting the Class of 2017 Student Recognition Celebrations. The Student Recognition Celebrations will include brief remarks by Raj Acharya, Dean of the School of Informatics and Computing. Following the Celebration, a reception with light refreshments will be held in the adjoining Solarium.

Graduate (Master’s and Ph.D.)

Thursday, May 4, 2017 Solarium and Alumni Hall, Indiana Memorial Union
4 – 5 p.m. Recognition of Master’s and Ph.D. Graduates
5 – 7 p.m. Reception with light appetizers and refreshments

Students may choose which celebration to attend, but seats are limited and requests will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Reservations

Reservations are required for the SoIC Student Recognition Celebration. Invitations will be emailed to the graduating student on how to RSVP shortly after spring break. Reserve your tickets by April 20, 2017.
SEATING IS LIMITED.

Masters and Ph.D. Graduate Student Tickets

Graduates and guests may attend for free, but tickets are required for entry to the event. Each graduate will be issued a maximum of three tickets: one for themselves, plus up to two guests. The School of Informatics and Computing will not issue any extra tickets to students or family members.

Undergraduate Student Tickets

Graduates and guests may attend for free, but tickets are required for entry to the event. Each graduate will be issued a maximum of five (5) tickets: one for themselves, plus up to four guests. Students may only attend one undergraduate ceremony and will not be issued tickets for both. The School of Informatics and Computing will not issue any extra tickets to students or family members.

Location

Alumni Hall and the Solarium are located on the west end of the first floor of the Indiana Memorial Union.

Attire

Students are expected to dress business professional. You are welcome to wear your cap and gown, but it is not required.

When traveling to Bloomington please allow plenty of time due to road construction on SR 37. For more information on the construction, visit the I-69 construction page.

Directions and Parking to Indiana Memorial Union

Find directions to the Indiana Memorial Union.

Parking will be offered for a discounted rate. Discounted rates are $1.00 per half hour Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-midnight; $0.75 per half hour Saturday-Sunday 7 a.m.-midnight. The daily maximum is $12 per car in lots 1 and 2, and may be paid with cash or check. Debit/credit cards are not accepted. You may pick up a discounted parking voucher at registration on the day of the event.

Commencement Ceremony

Indiana University’s Spring Commencement will be held in two sessions. The Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, 1001 E. 17th Street in Bloomington.

On Saturday, May 6, 2017, the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. in Memorial Stadium, 1001 E. 17th Street in Bloomington.
