Alumni Awards & Nomination Forms
Each spring at a banquet in Indianapolis, we recognize outstanding graduates and friends of the School of Informatics and Computing. These are alumni of all programs who have shown great promise or achieved great success in their careers, as well as alumni and friends who have supported the School through their exceptional service.
Know an alumna(us) who deserves to be recognized? Submit a nomination by November 21 to be considered for the current award cycle. Nominations are welcome throughout the year, and those submitted after the deadline will be considered for the next round of awards. All nominations will be active for three years.
Please note there is a separate nomination process for the Information and Library Science Distinguished Alumni Award. Nominations for this award are due by April 1.

The Career Achievement Award is is presented to an alumna(us) in recognition of outstanding contributions and innovation that bring national acclaim and recognition to the fields of computer science, informatics, and information and library science, as well as honor and distinction to Indiana University.
The Young Alumni Award is presented to a recent alumna(us), age 40 or under, in recognition of outstanding early career achievement that brings acclaim and recognition to the fields of computer science, informatics, and information and library science, as well as honor and distinction to Indiana University.
The Distinguished Service Award is presented to a non-alumna(us) in recognition of their outstanding service and support for the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing, and furthers the development and excellence of the School and the fields of computer science, informatics, and information and library science.
The Distinguished Alumni Award honors outstanding alumni from the Department of Library and Information Science (prior to 1996 known as the Louise Maxwell Award). This nomination process is separate from that of the awards outlined above. The honoree is recognized during a special IU Alumni reception at the national conference of the American Library Association. April 1 is the deadline for nominations for this award.
