Patricia (Patty) Reyes-Cooksey earned her B.A. in Communication from William Paterson University in New Jersey, and M.S. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from IU. Prior to coming to the School of Informatics and Computing, she served as the Associate Director of Student Services for the School of Optometry (2008-2010). She also served as the Student Services Specialist for the School of Education's Office of Graduate Studies (2004-2008).

Patty's service to the IU has included being a representative for IU's Bloomington Professional Council, Co-Chair for Staff for the IU Latino Faculty and Staff Council, and President for the School of Education Staff Council. She is an active member of ACPA (American College Personnel Association), and NAGAP (National Association of Graduate Admission Professionals). She has presented at numerous national and local conferences on topics related to graduate education, diversity in higher education and student development.

In her spare time, you can find Patty behind her mobile camera or singing karaoke. Her photos have received several honors in Twenty20 and Snapwire. In 2014, she won 2nd place in Bloomington's Kwanis Idol.
